For example, I/RAS B™ writes TIF files as "Intergraph TIF" files which Raster Manager does not support in "write" mode.  Some raster files attached to DWG files are read-only and need to be converted to read-write with RASCONV. 

Converting I/RAS B attachments so Mill Creek Systems, Inc.'s RAS/Edit software can edit the raster images in MicroStation V8.

RASCONV Technical Description
When loaded RASCONV examines each raster reference file attachment  and those that are marked as "Read-Only" or those that are  Intergraph TIFF format (I/RAS B raster files) are exported to generic monochrome TIF using CCITT Group IV compression and reattached to the design file with the same name.

The conversion status and any error messages are displayed in the Message Center dialog.  

Once the conversion is completed, the RASCONV application unloads iteself. The raster reference file now has read-write access.

Note: The original read-only raster file is saved for redundancy purposes in the location pointed to by the Windows TMP environment variable (usually C:\Documents and Settings\username.domain\Local Settings\Temp) and can be manually deleted when no longer needed.

To Install RASCONV
1. Copy rasconv.ma and rasconv.dll to the \mdlapps folder.

To Run RASCONV
1. mdl load rasconv
